Traveling around the World
Traveling can become a huge part of who a person is. Traveling and seeing different things can influence you in your life and help you realize different aspects of the world. Seeing new things brings new meanings whether they are good or bad. The whole world isn't perfect. You have third world countries that have sick children and poor families barely able to live and then you have a place like America where everyone wants to live the "American Dream". The truth is that people don't realize what happens around the world, they only see what is actually in front of them. To me this is a huge problem, we want everyone to live a fair and healthy life but every individual needs to help in order to do this. Seeing starving children helps you get involved, makes you want to do something for them and for other children. Seeing the way people live is not the only way seeing the world changes you but also seeing art. How many people can say they have been 2 feet from the actual Mona Lisa? Or went to the top of the Eiffel Tower? I can, and it has made a difference to me. You see all these beautiful things the world has to offer and you learn to appreciate them. Being exposed to different cultures or religions also goes along with this subject. These things can change a person because you learn. You learn different things about people and about the world.

Kelly you truly touched with me with your blog. I will be going to Italy for the first time this summer and it’s all I have been thinking about. I agree with you when you say that traveling can truly shape a person. The places one can visit can provide for experiences and a form of education you can't get from books. I also agree with you on the fact that traveling can spread awareness about how the other half lives. Americans don't always realize how selfish they can be sometimes. There is so much suffering in the world and people can actually make a difference if they try.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you because here in America we have the opportunity to do everything. We have everything and we thnk that everyone outside of USA is the same when they're not. Here i do not see a lot of poor people and even if there are any our government helps them with services like Social Security etc. If we travel outside of US we will actually see the difference between America and other countires.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the fact that people should be willing to help the people of the third world. I don't understand how your blog is connecting, its like you tell me to help the poor but go to touristy places of the country. Most people see starving children on the tv but that does not mean they want to spend their vacation helping out which is unfortunate but i also believe that people can do what they want and just because they want to experince things like the Lourve in paris or the beaches of some exotic island does not mean they are wrong for wanting to.
ReplyDeleteI can say I've been those places too. It definitely makes me who I am.
